Computer Hardware Requirements

General Notes #

Below the recommended specification of hardware can be used as a guide line, we have been able to stream from much older computers. As an example we have used a 2013 Macbook Pro with i7 and 16GB Ram and it streams just fine, however there are lots of variables at play here which is why we could recommend 2017 or newer. 

If you want us to install on your computer to test the hardware we would be happy to do so prior to your shoot.

Please note, our app does not install on older operating systems than Mojave so please update to at least this prior to the install, links below.

Mac #

Hardware #

For our Remote Filming app to run the Apple mac hardware should be manufactured no earlier than 2017. Ideally this would be with i7 or greater processor with at least 8Gb of Ram. All M1 or greater models are supported.

Operating System #

For our Remote Filming app to run the operating system should Mojave or newer. This includes the following operating systems:

  • Mojave
  • Catalina
  • Big Sur
  • Monterey

To find out what Hardware and Operating System you have see below for instructions:

  1. Pull down the  Apple menu (top left) and choose “About this Mac”
  2. At the “Overview” screen of About This Mac, find the Mac model and year

Windows #

Hardware #

For our Remote Filming app to run the operating system should be Windows 10 and the GPU should be DirectX 10.1 compatible
